Galen's Elemental System:
This is based off of the alchemic system of base elements, with the addition of a few extras.
Formless:
No elemental affinity, strength, or weakness
Wind:
Strong against Water, weak against Earth. Polar opposite of fire. Lightning is a sub-element of wind.
Wind is a tracking, and destroying element. Wind techniques my be used to summon breezes, partially control weather, condense and change the flow of air, fly, teleport, detect, and track auras.
Water:
Water is strong against Fire, and weak against Wind. Polar opposite of Earth. Ice is a sub-element of water.
Water is an element of soothing and deception. Water techniques may be used for defense, and concealing auras or objects. This element may also create mirages, allow breathing in liquid environments, cool temperatures, and heal minor wounds. Higher level techniques can resuscitate the severely injured.
Fire:
Fire is strong against Earth, and weak against Water. Polar opposite is Wind.
Fire is an aggressive element. It may be used to create firewalls, fireballs, bursts of energy, beams of energy, and explosions, as well as regulating temperature to the warm side.
Earth:
Earth is strong against Wind, and weak against Fire. Polar opposite is Water.
Earth is a solid, defensive element. Offensive earth techniques are extremely destructive, and many also carry a side effect of poison, or petrification. Projectiles of stone and sand, rapidly growing vines, and telekinesis are all Earth traits.
Light:
Light is strong against Darkness, and weak against Darkness.
Light techniques focus on healing and purification, with a strong defensive bent, and adeptness with energy barriers.
Darkness:
Darkness is strong against Light, and weak against Light.
Darkness techniques are mercilessly powerful, tearing apart both the body and the mind of the victim. Victims of Darkness-type attacks are often found (if not dead) listless, or in a coma, as the dark-matter created is highly damaging to the body's neural network. Dark-matter also causes sever burns, which do not heal normally.
